Biobarrier® Root Control System Adds Sizes

Biobarrier® Root Control System has added two new sizes, a 24-inch x 20-foot roll and a 24-inch x 100-foot roll.

“Our work with landscape architects has made us aware that a 24-inch width would be a convenient size for some of their projects,” said Jerry Dunaway, Biobarrier sales manager, “so we developed it in two lengths. The new sizes are available now.”

Biobarrier is also available in 10 other sizes—12-inch x 20-foot rolls; 12-inch x 100-foot rolls; 19.5-inch x 20-foot rolls; 19.5-inch x 100-foot rolls, 29-inch x 20-foot rolls, 29-inch x 100-foot rolls, 39-inch x 20-foot rolls, 39-inch x 100-foot rolls, 58.5-inch x 20-foot rolls, and 58.5-inch x 100-foot rolls.

Biobarrier Root Control System is a geotextile that was designed to slowly release trifluralin, a proven, non-systemic herbicide that works by creating a vapor zone that prevents root tip cell division. Trees concentrate growth in branch roots away from the trifluralin zone and any roots reaching the zone begin to grow away from it. Because it’s porous to water and nutrients, Biobarrier doesn’t disturb soil hydrology.
