Biobarrier II Preemergence Weed Control System

Biobarrier II Preemergence Weed Control System eliminates weed growth in a variety of situations. Used like a landscape fabric and covered with two inches of mulch, gravel or soil, Biobarrier II inhibits root growth both above and below it. It is frequently placed in areas where mechanical trimming or spraying herbicides is expensive and/or dangerous, such as landscaped beds (where ornamental shrubs have roots more than two inches below the surface), under fences, brick or gravel walkways and driveways, around the base of cellular phone towers, and under guardrails and signs on highways.

Biobarrier II Tree Skirt is designed to be placed around newly planted or existing trees and ornamental shrubs to prevent weed growth. Covered with two inches of the mulch of your choice, Biobarrier II Tree Skirt has several advantages over other materials used for tree skirts. Lawn mowers can more easily go along its edges than around a circular skirt, and it is the only product available that can eliminate the problem of growth of the tree or shrub roots up into it; shallow root growth decreases the ability of trees and shrubs to resist drought and wind blow-over.

For more than 30 years, trifluralin has been used between rows of food crops to prevent weed growth.

Because of this extensive use and numerous research projects, much is known about its low toxicity and safe use.
